you say networking, we say community🙋🏻♀️
so the leap.club community {finally} went offline in our first (of many) big events last month and what a day it was! (nope, this wasn’t limited to members - we let them bring their +1s too! ;)
for those of you who don’t know about us yet, we are a community-led professional network for women. quite like a whole lotta others, we were slated for a pre-pandemic launch with a full-blown event in gurugram back in 2020 and well, let’s just say pivot has been the theme for most. so this one was extra special, overdue and definitely worth the wait!
what we experienced, with 200 electrifying women in the room, is something we’ll remember for years to come. why, you ask?
👭🏻 real, meaningful connections got a whole other meaning with our fun speed-networking sessions
👩🍳 members cooked up a storm with an interesting live cooking experience (that sriracha pasta, tho🤤)
🍹everyone talked a whole lotta tipples and some even played bartender for a bit courtesy Grey Goose & svami
leaving you all with some anecdotes which made our day year :’)
🤰🏻a mama-to-be got a special, impromptu bespoke dish from a fellow member chef at weekeasy because of dietary restrictions.
✈️ members came down from different cities! flights & road trips for meeting people irl is big community energy.
👭🏻 wework became high school reunion ground with scores of members meeting their seniors/juniors from schools & colleges across the globe! (some met after a decade!)
🔥 we saw plus ones and partners sign up for membership during the event because “they just didn’t want to wait”.
🙌🏻 a member who was sceptical to attend because she’s an introvert, left after 4 hours and 10+ friends from speed networking + conversations.
👏🏼 a member said she met more people in 4 hours than she did in 1 whole year (we gotchu, girl!)
🤝 a mentor and her mentee met irl for the first time at the leap (af)fair! (sorry, zoom, the feelings hit different).
we could go on and write an essay on the power of connections, the overwhelming love we witnessed and the priceless feeling of watching the impact of a community, in its truest sense. in the words of another member :
“usually after a day full of interacting i tend to be exhausted and ready to hit the bed, but today i’m feeling energized because of the people i met and the conversations i had”
and that, right there, is our raison d’etre (in addition to helping more women reach leadership positions, of course)
if ‘for members, by members, with members’ had a face, it would be the leap (af)fair.
a massive shoutout to our partners wework for allowing the magic to happen, GreyGoose for the flowing cocktails, svami for the mixers, master chow, la licorne, fig & weekeasy for the deliciousness.
until the next one!
bengaluru & mumbai, we’re coming for you!
– your excited friends at leap.club
as always, don’t take our word for it :)
