Introducing leap scholars
a mentorship program for female students from new/young business schools
leap.club is a powerful, private, professional network for women. members get access to an exclusive network and curated benefits that help accelerate your professional growth. we opened memberships for 30 founding members in delhi on 1st may 2020 and 100+ amazing women have already joined our mission. we launch bangalore on 1st august and bombay on 1st september. 6000+ women leaders are on the waitlist, join the waitlist here - leap.club. powerful stories emerge from this network every single day.
a big part of our mission at leap.club is the leap foundation - where we donate a certain % of every member’s fee to groom future leaders. over the last 2 months, we have constantly asked ourselves, how can we impact more lives. during an interview, we learned about the limited opportunities at some of the new-er business schools as they don’t have access to alum groups, are in tier 2/3/4 towns. we also learned that female representation at these schools was surprisingly low. (for eg. at one of the new iim’s, there are 3 female students in a batch of ~120). we spent the last 6 weeks digging deeper and reached out to students from iim bodh gaya, rohtak, ranchi, visakhapatnam, kashipur, amritsar, doon business school and uttarakhand technical university, to understand more on where students and young alums need help.
we decided to do our bit to help and started work on leap.club scholars. here’s what we want to do:
mentorship programs suffer from a lack of structure – we want to change that.
we want to work with female students from these new-er business schools and positively impact their early careers.
we shared 2 simple questions for students to answer and received 100+ applications and have shortlisted our first cohort of leap scholars.
we are now inviting leap.club members and non-members to come on board as mentors and support our mission. students/alums/young women professionals who think they will benefit from this program can also reach out. write to us at hi@leap.club.
leap.club scholars will get access to -
an approachable mentor who will act as a professional coach. she will invest ~45 mins every 6-8 weeks to support students/young professionals. we will help structure these interactions.
executive coaching - 3 group sessions over the next 9-12 months with leap.club executive coaches (funded by us).
a peer network - we will build a separate community of leap.club scholars for peer learning and support.
based on mentor feedback, top students spend 2 weeks working with senior leaders from our mentor base.
